Windy Boulder Parking

After entering the Anza Borrego State Park, drive about 3.5 miles to reach the set of obvious roadside boulders on your right. These are the Windy Boulders. There is a rough turnout on the side of the road for parking.

Directions to Culp Valley

Take highway 67 North through Ramona. Head East on Highway 78 to San Ysabel. Turn left heading North on Highway 79 until you arrive at Highway CR-S2. Turn East (Right) at this juncture. Drive about 4 miles to the jucture with CR-S22. Turn left onto CR-S22 heading East. Drive through Ranchita and into the State Park. Driving time is near 2 hours from downtown San Diego.

You can hike over to Cottonwood from Windy Boulders by walking West or drive a bit further down the road from the Windy Boulders. Where the road takes a sharp curve turn right on a dirt road to Cottonwood Campground. Drive the rough road in for about a third of a mile.
